2016 – KIA OPTIMA GT
With the launch of the Kia pro_cee’d GT in 2013, the Korean brand made it clear that its intention in the market was to win over some of the public seeking high-performance line models. After the arrival of the first sports compact, Kia now takes advantage of the Frankfurt Motor Show to present the Kia Optima GT, its second sporty model.Aesthetically we found some differences between the conventional Kia Optima and the GT, which features specific bumpers, the rear with diffuser and dual exhaust, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels. The Optima is an elegant sedan of 4,850 mm in length, and therefore its aesthetic is more discreet than that of the pro_cee’d GT, focused on a different audience. In terms of interior, Kia did not publish images or give details, but it is logical to imagine an interior very similar to the rest of the versions, with a series of more sportive components such as the steering wheel, the pedals and the seats, accompanied by details that highlight the sporty spirit of the Korean sedan. The engine chosen for the Kia Optima GT was the 2.0-liter T-GDI four-cylinder block, which with turbo and direct gasoline injection develops 245 horsepower and 353 Nm of maximum torque. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is completed in 7.4 seconds, while the top speed is 240 km / h. The Kia Optima GT announces an average consumption of 12.2 km / l. The transmission is automatic six-speed and the traction is front. At the chassis level, the Kia Optima GT will feature a number of specific features, such as a new controlled suspension, a larger brake system and an electric assisted steering.Further details, such as equipment and prices, will be revealed when the Kia Optima GT is near the start of its commercialization. The version will reach the market in 2016, although the Kia Optima in its non-sport versions will arrive later this year of 2015. Later also will be added to the line the body still unknown, inspired by the prototype Sportspace presented in the last Hall of Geneva.

2016 – KIA SEMA SHOW
KIA presented its vision of the future with four new concepts at the SEMA Show 2016: the Niro Triathlon, the Sedona School of Rock, the Sorento Ski Gondola and the Soul First Class.According to the Korean manufacturer, the car of the future, in addition to being 100% autonomous, will be a vehicle designed for the lifestyles of each driver, from sports to entertainment, to business.”The SEMA Show gives us the opportunity to introduce the cars that can be part of the day-to-day life of a future in which autonomous mobility will be ubiquitous,” said KIA Motors of America COO Michael Sprague. The stand-alone Niro Triathlon has an interior designed to allow its occupants to relax and ‘charge the battery’ after a hard day’s work. Designed and built by LGE-CTS Motorsports, the Niro Triathlon does not have the D-pillar to accommodate a small bed and space to accommodate a bike and a computer. On the back, a laser safety light that illuminates the road so that the driver-cyclist can monitor their speed, time and distance with the help of a tablet, while the Niro keeps pace. The School of Rock Sedona has a mobile recording studio and does not include the B-pillar, the steering wheel and the shift lever. This allows a greater space for the artist-conductor to be able to work at ease and record the next musical successes. In the ceiling, space to store guitars, basses and other instruments. In relation to the KIA Sorento Ski Gondola, the idea was to design a car prepared for the most inhospitable climates of winter, able to reach the top of a mountain, but with fun. The Dominator Rubber Tracks are perhaps the best proof of this, since they replace the usual tires. As for the Soul First Class, the KIA thought of the model as a stand-alone with rear seats, without steering wheel and various luxury accessories designed to optimize work and rest. Counting as the contribution of LUX Motorwerks, this prototype features a 40-inch Samsung LED TV connected to a Mac mini and premium audio speakers. Outside, PPG Lux Blue finish, redesigned top and bottom grilles, LED headlamps and 19-inch Rotiform Monoblock CCV wheels.
